5-Wire Wiegand Outputs

The EDCO 5W8-30 is an access control protection module designed for typical Wiegand outputs for access devices. This is a 5-wire module that accommodates low-voltage data lines for 8 VDC circuits. 5th wire power protection will allow up to 30 VDC.

In addition, sneak and fault currents are mitigated with resettable fuses (PTCs). The PTCs increase resistance several orders of magnitude when overcurrents exceed safe levels. A normal state resumes when overcurrents are removed. The ability to self-restore in this manner significantly increases suppressor performance and survivability.
